Accessing cPanel
Step 1 – Determining your cPanel Login Credentials
A cPanel account has been created for each student upon registering for this course. In order to login to your cPanel, you will need to know the following:
- Domain name
Your domain name is composed of the first part of your URI email address (up to the @ symbol) and the extension ".vps.cs.uri.edu". If there are underscores in your email address, simply remove them.
Example: If my uri email address is "csc_101@my.uri.edu", my domain name would be "csc101.vps.cs.uri.edu".
- Username
Your username is the first part of your URI email address (up to sixteen characters). If the first part of your URI email address exceeds sixteen characters, use only the first sixteen for your username.
Example: If my uri email address is "csc_101@my.uri.edu", my username would be "csc101". If my address is "university_of_rhode_island@my.uri.edu", my username would be "universityofrhod".
- Password
Your password is your 9 digit student ID number.
Step 2 - Accessing your cPanel
To access your cPanel, open a new browser window and go to: yourdomainname/cpanel
where "yourdomainname" is replaced with your own domain name as determined in Step 1 above.
For example, my cPanel would be accessed at csc101.vps.cs.uri.edu/cpanel
Step 3 - Logging into your cPanel
Once you access your cPanel URL, the following login screen should appear. Enter your Username and Password as determined in Step 1 above.
