Finding the Size of a File

To find the size of a file, right click on the file icon. The file icon for a Microsoft Word Document looks like:

and the file icon for a text document looks like:

. To find the size of each file, right click on the icon. Choose properties from the menu.

The properties window will provide you with information about the file. You can see the name and type of file, when it was created, when it was last modified, and the size of the file.

In this example, the file size is approximately 19.5 kilobytes or 19,968 bytes.

The dates and times that the file was created, modified, and accessed are listed below the size listing.
