The Impact of Email

Abstract
This paper defines email and describes how it has improved human communication over traditional mail by being much faster, less expensive, able to reach many people, and able to deliver electronic documents. It describes the technology of email and how people interact with it. The paper has a section on email's relationship with the concept of computing data by showing how email is a form of data representing archived human communication. Also presented are benefits email has had to society with a particular focus on its impact in business, as well as potential harmful aspects of email such as its over use through spamming, and privacy concerns.
